Meet the breeder

I'm Cassey H., the breeder behind Rosebud Breeding located in Indianola, MS. Our dogs are bred with a family friendly temperament at the heart. All dams are in-house and raised in a mulitple kid-friendly environment. Puppies are exposed to the outdoors, noises, water, changes of faces, friends, love, and structure. We do not mill out puppies and currently still have the grandparents of the litter. We make sure that the adopted home lifestyle fits the personality of this breed, and we look forward to sharing the joy of Springer Spaniels with other families nationwide.

Q. & A. with Cassey

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the breed and our daughters wanted to have a litter of puppies so badly. We tried for our first litter in 2020 and it was a huge success. All 10 puppies are still happy and healthy with their owners, and we keep up with them periodically.
  • What makes your program special?

We do not breed for income or for career. We are just a loving family of 5 who adores and understands the breed, loves puppies, and wants other families to experience the joy of Spaniels. We believe every child should have the privilege of raising a puppy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Cassey has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Cassey partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care in matching puppies with the correct family. While we do allow the new owner to select the puppy he/she wants based on color, appearance, and sex, we will happily provide insight and recommendations on temperament and personality to make the choice a better match for the new family. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $1,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes guarantee, AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, outdoor exposure, and pet socialization. The deposit goes toward the final pricing of the puppy. Pricing varies based on each puppy’s specific coloration, markings, and ticking. Our rates reflect the rarity of certain coat patterns and how closely a puppy adheres to established breed conformation standards.”

Good level

Rosebud Breeding reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for English Springer Spaniels.

  • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, DNA Profile, PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 4 (PRA-crd4), Phosphofructokinase Deficiency (PFK), Fucosidosis, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
