I'm Sarah S., the breeder behind Rosebud Kennels located in Great Falls, MT. We raise our puppies with total care and attention so they can become well-socialized and loving additions to their forever homes. We have spent years raising healthy and happy puppies! We are dedicated to building these breeds by ensuring breed standards are passed down with each of our litters.
Q. & A. with Sarah
Why did you start breeding?
First saw the Keeshond beef in a dog fancy magazine in 2008 and instantly fell in love. Took me two years to find my first girl. I love being able to share this wonderful breed with people. It's been a long hard road that never seems to end! Corgis are just fun and love sharing them too. Rottweilers were my first live as a child, love to share that with people.
What makes your program special?
I'm taking time and money to find the right dogs to breed. Healthy to healthy, trying to meet AKC standards as best as I can.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Keeshond puppies are black and silver. Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include sable, white and red, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Rosebud Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Keeshonden.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
