Meet the breeder

I'm Samantha & Dan D., the breeder behind Royal Flush Farms located in Hollidaysburg, PA. We strive to produce once in a lifetime dogs that exceed our identified values. Improving the breed by staying true to the intended purpose and structure are important to us. We want to produce brag-worthy hunting or competition dogs that are also wonderful companions. We actually stand behind what we do not just in words or games with words - health testing means OFA & Pennhip with ability to provide results and x-rays. Proven means the dogs' are evaluated other than us in competition or at minimum exceptionally qualified eyes.

Q. & A. with Samantha & Dan

  • Why did you start breeding?

We never intended to be a dog breeder! We both have successful full-time careers, however, our passion is bird dogs. Every spare second we spend with our animals. We bred our first litter to keep a few puppies for competition dogs and it just happened organically. Now we breed to fulfill waitlists and to continue our competition lines. We take breeding as seriously as our “day jobs".
  • What makes your program special?

We feel more dogs shouldn’t be bred than should and good dogs don’t need to be bred. We breed exceptional dogs with exceptional attention to detail. We are 100% committed to doing things right. From impeccable bloodlines, proven ability in competition, over the top heath testing, to home suitability. Avidog, Puppy Culture, and a strong commitment to CE and continual improvement are important to us. We also feel that puppies from fully trained and active competition dogs are extremely important. These events test the ability to be trained, willingness to please, soundness, temperament, instinct, and intelligence. A strong and proven background is important to success whether it is a companion or competition dog!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and liver, white and orange, liver roan, orange roan, orange and white, liver white and orange, and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Samatha was great. She shared lots of photos and health information going back several generations. When we picked up Dune Samatha spent with us as we became acquainted with our new puppy. She had a going home kit with helpful information, toys and even food for a couple days. So thoughtful. Dune has been a joy and is settling in getting acquainted with the whole family. He is learning so quickly and even loves to play fetch. We are grateful we found Royal Flush Farms on good dog.

We were very pleased with the entire process. There was great communication and we never had to ask for information they made sure we had everything we needed. They let us know about even personality traits that honestly made us want our new pup more. We got exactly what we were looking for.

Sam and Dan from Royal Flush Farms did such a great job with breeding and getting our little Ember (now Oliver) ready for his new home. He is everything we hoped for and then some. Oliver is sweet, loving, smart, playful, attentive, and cute as a button, if we say so ourselves! Everyone loves him and compliments us on such a great dog!!

We had a wonderful experience with Samantha and Dan at Royal Flush Farms. They were super easy to work with when it came to coordinating, asking questions about the process, and understanding what to expect all the way up and through our pick-up. Our new puppy has been a wonderful addition to the family, and is off to a great start thanks to the excellent care and attention they took with him for his first few months. Highly recommend working with Royal Flush to find your next four legged companion!
