I'm Sandra W., the breeder behind Royal River Retrievers located in Yarmouth, ME. Royal River Retrievers: Conscientiously breeding well-balanced dogs that are friendly, reliable, and trustworthy; come from healthy ancestors; are structurally sound enough to flourish in the tasks asked of them; and are given the best start in life.
Q. & A. with Sandra
Why did you start breeding?
Ever since 2005 when serious thoughts of breeding first crossed my mind, I have been preparing by reading books, attending seminars and club activities, volunteering at shows, hunt trials, tracking, etc. By 2013, I decided I had done plenty of toe-dipping and plunged right in with my first litter. I fell in love with the whole process and continue my journey to the master level with ongoing education from Avidog, Puppy Culture, and mentors who share a wealth of experience and support.
What makes your program special?
I truly enjoy spending quality time with my dogs, and I take pride that the puppies I help bring into this world are temperamentally stable, structurally sound, and healthy.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
