Q. & A. with Lorna
Why did you start breeding?
My mother bred, trained, and showed German Shepherds. She had a large boarding and training kennel. I began showing at the age of 6, then started training dogs at age 10. It was the beginning of my lifelong love affair with dogs. I remain a small hobby kennel and only breed for quality, not quantity, for show and pet homes. I do not breed for hunting, but I do encourage obedience and other sport performance venues.
What makes your program special?
I study pedigrees, show potential breeding stock, earn titles, and perform genetic testing. I believe that all of these elements are crucial for a good quality breeding program. Besides breeding for quality, I believe that a breeder can mold a puppy into the perfect family dog from day one. I promote hands-on socializing in a home environment and encourage exposing puppies to all kinds of possible future conditions in order to build confidence and happiness in your new beloved companion.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and white, lemon and white, and black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
