I'm Michael D., the breeder behind Sadie Lane Family Goldens located in Carmichael, CA. Our family has been raising golden retrievers for about 20 years. We're a small, hobby breeder and own 3 goldens. We love the breed and our puppies are raised in our home with utmost care using the acclaimed Puppy Culture protocols. We use OFA certifications for elbows, heart, & eyes, and Penn-Hip for hips. Our breeding dogs are all currently 100% clear on Paw Print Genetics. Why did you start breeding?
We have always loved golden retrievers and find fulfillment in our small breeding program. At the heart of every breeder is the call to 'improve the breed' which we endeavor to do. We greatly enjoy the journey and focus on outstanding temperament and health in our parent dogs. We are passionate about goldens and feel privileged to provide happy, healthy puppies for families.What makes your program special?
We are a small, family hobby breeder. Our goal is to produce healthy, loving dogs, and we strive to prepare all our Golden Retrievers to excel in their forever homes as service dogs or family companions. Five current offspring are presently certified service animals. We carefully screen all applicants and strive to place each puppy in an enriching and loving home.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Michael
Michael has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Michael partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“Prices may fluctuate based on outside, contracted stud fee costs. A deposit will ensure either a male or female puppy for your from this specific litter. Once our waiting list is full, we turn away subsequent applicants, and for that reason the deposit is non-refundable.”

Our Rory girl is a beautiful, light color golden with the most gentle and sweet disposition. Even as a puppy, she had a wonderful, calm temperament and was very easy to train. She is 100% genetically clear through UC Davis Veterinary on the golden retriever disease panel. Rory has her OFA elbows, heart, and eye certifications. We now generate all our hip certifications through Penn Hip and Rory has also had those completed! She's a wonderful mom so far and all her puppies are strong and thriving.

Cooper is loved and adored by everyone he meets! He's a gorgeous male with an amazing mane and coat. Cooper goes with us everywhere are often stopped on our walks and hikes because everyone wants to meet him and, naturally, he loves all people! His health scores are outstanding with OFA 'excellent' rated hips, normal elbows, and normal OFA heart and eye certifications. He is 100% genetically clear on the golden retriever disease panel through Paw Print Genetics. His temperament is outstanding and his offspring tend to inherit his lovable, goofy, 'talkative' personality.

River is a gorgeous petite golden retriever with a very light coat. She is 100% genetically clear and has OFA eyes, heart, elbow certifications, as well as Penn Hip clearances for hips. She comes from an excellent line of champion goldens and is the sweetest, most gentle golden.

Lady is a female Golden Retriever. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Michael decided to make her part of their program. Michael has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
