I'm Ashley M., the breeder behind Sage Valley located in Eugune, OR. Our program is focused on producing well rounded Standard Poodles with correct structure, stable temperaments and the versatility to excel both in and out of the show ring. We prioritize finishing AKC and UKC conformation titles prior to breeding and use performance and sport exploration to evaluate work ethic, trainability and overall balance to evaluate if a dog will be kept and used in our program. Our goal isn't to have anything 'extreme' but to have dogs that are confident, biddable and capable. Poodles that can succeed and enjoy whatever avenue their owners choose; whether that's confirmation, sports or just a loving pet! Each breeding is carefully planned with health, temperament and long term breed preservation in mind. We strive to produce the intelligence, soundness and elegance that the breed is known for.

Why did you start breeding?
My dog trainer introduced me to their friend who works with gun dogs and at the end of the session I mentioned I was looking at a springer spaniel for my first show-dog. She let me know she had an adult standard poodle she was looking for a home for; I said I'd think about it. My fiancé and I talked on the ride home when I decided I'd foster her and help look for a home. Two weeks later I went and picked her up and took her home; she fit in IMMEDIATLY. I knew within the first week that she'd be a foster fail.... When I the trainer (Now mentor and co owner) know, she said the requirements to keeping her were that I show. And the rest is history...What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Ashley
Ashley has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Ashley partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
Price
“The price of a puppy includes a two year health gurantee, AKC/UKC registration, the first round of vaccinations, and deworming. All puppies in a litter are priced the same. We ask for a $500 non refundable deposit to be added to my waitlist, this may transferred to another litter if the right puppy is unavailable in your selected litter.”

Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
