I'm Jeanette P., the breeder behind Salt City Farm located in Draper, UT. Salt City Farm is a small family breeder in Draper, Utah, raising Bernedoodles and Wirehaired Pointing Griffons with plenty of room to run, play, and grow. Our puppies are raised hands-on as part of our family, with a focus on health, temperament, and finding the right fit for every home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Jeanette grew up on a small farm helping her dad raise and breed Labrador Retrievers. After we married, we continued that tradition together, raising German Shepherds and Angora goats while raising our family. Today, that lifelong love of animals continues at Salt City Farm, where we thoughtfully raise Bernedoodles and Wirehaired Pointing Griffons.

    Our program is rooted in a commitment to health, temperament, and ethical practices. We prioritize early socialization, breed-specific health testing, and love to see our puppies thrive with loving families.   • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Bernedoodle puppies include mini and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Bernedoodle puppies include brown and white, brown, black and white, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Jeanette

Jeanette has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jeanette partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We allow buyers to purchase in order of placing a deposit and help them find the right match.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,100 - $3,100 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our puppies have their dew claws removed, have had all their deworming done, and receive their first set of vaccinations (6 week). They are sent home with a goodie bag! We require a deposit to hold your spot in the current litter, or a future litter if we don't have any available. Balance is paid upon pick-up.”

Jeanette may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • DNA Disease Panel, von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    It was such a quick decision for me when I found Pepper but I have been grateful everyday since. She is so much fun and working with Jeanette/Salt City Farm made it such an easy process. My daughter in law works at a vet hospital and was very impressed with the package given to us (heart worm medicine, records of parentage, when she had vaccinations) she said that is very rare to see. Pepper has been very easy to train and sleeping through the night since the third night. It helped that Jeanette gave us a blanket with Peppers mother’s scent on it to help acclimate. I really cannot say enough good about how responsive and willing to work with us they were.

    Jeanette was gracious and informative throughout the entire process from providing information about our puppy selection, providing frequent updates, promptly answering all our questions, to picking up the puppy. Roko adapted quickly to being separated from his mom and siblings and traveled well on the plane and the car ride home.
