Meet the breeder
I'm Carrie D., the breeder behind Sanctus Standards located in Minneapolis, MN. We strive to produce puppies that are healthy and have great temperments. Dad is a certified, working therapy dog. Mom is the family clown. Both have been OFA tested, Embark clear and have their CGC. Our goal is for others to experience the joy and love that standard poodles have brought to us.

Why did you start breeding?
We decided to start breeding because of our first Standard poodle, Leo. I had never met a dog as smart, loving and with such a calm temperament. He truly is a great ambassador for his breed. After researching and learning about breeding for the last couple years, I determined that becoming a breeder would enable me to better the breed and share the joy of owning a poodle with others.What makes your program special?
While a great temperament is a good start to breeding, it is only one piece of the puzzle. We focus not only on a great temperment, but also on health and structure. We have completed OFA tests and are Embark clear. Both our dogs have completed several obedience classes, including CGC. We do all our grooming at home, so puppies have early exposure to grooming as well.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, blue, brown, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Carrie
Carrie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Carrie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Sanctus Standards reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
