I'm Emma R., the breeder behind Sandstone Brittanys located in Vermilion, OH. We are a family of veterinarians that has been raising Brittanys since 2002. Our dogs are part of the family and we mainly breed to continue our bloodlines. All of our dogs receive show championships and health clearances (hips, elbows, eyes, etc.) before being bred. Puppies are health guaranteed.
Q. & A. with Emma
Why did you start breeding?
My dad has had Brittanys for personal hunting companions most of his life. When I was a young child, my mom bought a Brittany puppy from a show line, and that dog became the matriarch of our breeding program. We strive to produce conformationally correct family dogs with drive in the field but an "off switch" at home and a gentle temperament.
What makes your program special?
We are a small family operation. On average, we have a litter once every 2-3 years. A lot of planning and pedigree analysis goes into each of our litters, as we usually only breed when we're looking to keep another puppy.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are orange and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
