I'm Cara F., the breeder behind Sardonyx Canines located in Albany, NY. Applications are open. Our dogs live in our home and our puppies are raised by the whole family. Puppies are exposed to the daily life of a busy household with three kids, so that they are easily able to acclimate to family life in their new homes. We breed for health and temperament with the intent of improving the breed. We keep a variety of factors in mind when choosing dogs to breed, including health, temperament, pedigree, and complementary traits, so that puppies can inherit the best of both parents.

Cara has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Cara partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
"Puppies are matched based on their personality and temperament so they are a good fit for the lifestyle of the family. We introduce different situations and experiences and give each puppy’s response over the 7-8 weeks. That is why they do not go home until 9 weeks so we have a good idea of who they are."

"Puppy price is $3600 plus 7% sales tax ($252). If Buyer pays the Deposit, then later decides s/he does not want the puppy for any reason, Breeder is not required to refund the Deposit. If, however, Breeder is able to sell the puppy to another buyer within a reasonable amount of time after Buyer notifies Breeder of his/her decision, Breeder may (in its sole discretion) refund the Deposit to Buyer. If Breeder feels the Buyer is no longer suitable for any reason Breeder retains the right to cancel the sale of the puppy and refund the Deposit to Buyer.Buyer Acknowledgements: Buyer further acknowledges and agrees that (a) Breeder cannot control litter sizes and temperment of puppies so wait time for puppies can be longer than expected; (b) the Deposit gives Buyer a place on the reservation list for the current litter(s) (c) Buyer acknowledges that Breeder will match puppies to homes based on temperment before the age of 10 weeks and does not guarantee any specific qualities of the puppy when it becomes an adult."
Cara may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Cara offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Cara directly.
You can drive or fly to pick up your puppy from Cara.
