I'm Jessica W., the breeder behind Sassys Shepherds located in Virginia. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!
Q. & A. with Jessica
Why did you start breeding?
I grew up with dogs my entire life. The older I got the more interesting it was to learn about genetics and breeding dogs. I began to study and read about all the ends and outs of being a breeder. My husband and and I used to breed beagles. When we built our new home on almost 9 acres I knew I wanted to share my love of German Shepherds woth everyone. So many people wanted a dog companion just like one of my dogs. It would bring me great joy to share that experience with someone so that's just what I did!
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are part of our family. We love them so very much. I'd like to think that what sets us apart from some other breeders is the way we raise all of our dogs. I have 2 children who are a huge part of my program. They spend lots of time with all of our dogs and pups. It makes them extra comfortable with all ages before going home to their new families.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, black, isabella, black and tan, black and red, black and cream, bi-color, blue, liver, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
