I'm Rachael W., the breeder behind Scarlet Fern Goldens located in Clarksville, TN. We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We ensure our Golden Retrievers have all health clearances and great temperaments. We work hard to enhance the breed, while providing you with a loving companion.
Q. & A. with Rachael
Why did you start breeding?
My husband and I have owned Golden Retrievers since we were kids. We both fell in love with the breed and wanted to bring Golden Retriever love to others. We have done our research on the health certifications and genetic screenings that should be conducted to ensure smart breeding decisions. We have also consulted our dogs’ breeders for advice on breeding. We want to help enhance the breed.
What makes your program special?
Scarlet Fern Goldens is always willing to take a puppy bred through our program back in the event the puppy or dog needs to be rehomed, though we will not refund the price of the puppy. We will refund owners up to $200 if they show proof of successful completion of an obedience class for puppies or dogs and Canine Good Citizen certification.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
