Meet the breeder

I'm Amanda P., the breeder behind Scout's Legacy Golden Retrievers located in Trenton, TX. We strive to breed healthy and happy Golden Retrievers. The goal of our breeding program is to bring in the next generation of Service Dogs for the disabled. In every litter, we only expect a few to make it into the Scout's Legacy Service Dog program, so many of our puppies will be placed into pet homes. All of our breeding dogs are health tested and titled. We are dedicated to continuing our phenomenal bloodlines in an effort to provide our Golden families with loving, healthy, and happy puppies.

Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

When working with service dogs, I always knew I would need quality and healthy animals who were bred to have the correct temperament for the job. My goal is to bring in the next generation of service dogs, but many in the litters will need pet homes, too. • What makes your program special?

I plan on raising every litter like they will all be service dogs one day. That means lots of socialization and extra care will go into each puppy. I raise every one of my dogs to be independent and thoughtful as we work through many tasks, whether that is conformation, dock diving, rally, or any other sport I get them into. Temperament, health, and structure are also all of paramount importance in my program.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
