Seascape Golden Retrievers

Susan W.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Susan W., the breeder behind Seascape Golden Retrievers located in Cedar Glen, CA. We offer trained puppies and fully trained young adult dogs. Our Goldens are all housebroken, have excellent housemanners and are well socialized and obedience trained. We strive to produce long lived, healthy Golden Retrievers that will thrive in their new homes.

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

I adopted my first Golden in 1999 after falling in love with the breed. After working with several families who had Goldens with severe behavior problems and learning that they had adopted their dogs from non-reputable breeders, I decided to work with reputable breeders to help me build a program that would produce healthy dogs with stable temperaments.
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is different than most because I not only focus on health/temperament/longevity, I also start training and socialization very early. My puppies start puppy culture at birth and continue with socialization and public access training while completing full obedience training before going into their new home. Many of my Goldens are placed as service dogs or therapy dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
