Old Time Scotch Collie
About Oriah
Oriah is adored everywhere she goes almost as much as we adore her at home. She is adorable, amiable, accepting, personable, and amazingly expressive. She always manages to surprise me with how much she is able to convey through her actions. She is the "police dog" of the house. She will tell us when someone isn't following the rules, or if something isn't how it should be, and she will sometimes enforce the rules herself - like when she guides the cats away from the dog food when they try to steal a piece. While she doesn't have an over-abundance of energy, she does love having a job to do, and her job on our homestead is to make sure everything is as it should be. Oriah has a lot of the physical traits that aren't generally associated with the more modern rough and smooth collies: She is smaller and bulkier in stature (like her parents) and is medium-coated with silky soft fur. She has exceptional genes, and she is a coveted outcross (meaning she carries genes from a different yet breed-standard-accepted breed in order to increase the genetic diversity, health, and robustness of the Scotch Collies).

About Beau
Beau is sweet, gentle, and eager to please. He is also the biggest snuggle bug and clever as the dickens! He loves a good play session and gets along well with other dogs (and all other animals for that matter). Overall, he's the kind that likes to sit back and observe all the goings-on, and when it comes time for him to act, he has already figured out what to do. He learned how to use our other dog's talking buttons just by watching her do it! Though he mostly uses them to ask for bananas and "chicky treats". Weighing in at roughly 55 lbs, he has more of the physical characteristics associated with rough and smooth collies - longer nose, fluffier mane, lankier build - but he is pure traditional Scottish Collie, with all of the beloved quirks and characteristics (and fabulous genes to match). His primary job on our homestead is guarding and wrangling our chickens, though he is also great as an all-around watch dog as he takes a keen interest in keenly observing our entire property. His primary role, however, is as a beloved member of our family - a job which he also seems to take very serious, based on his adorable playfulness and the quality of his snuggles.
