I'm Chantz & Laurren S., the breeder behind Segraves Poodles located in Cleveland, GA. Both of the varieties we breed are raised together, so they have a similar demeanor. We believe in having versatile, well-rounded dogs that would lay on the couch or in bed all day, or go hike a mountain all day, too. We get to know you to match a dog with you!
Q. & A. with Chantz & Laurren
Why did you start breeding?
As I’ve been involved with Poodles to some extent over the course of my life, I had always wanted a standard. Once Chantz and I got married, we decided to get one and the rest was history as we went straight down the rabbit hole of conformation; even to the point of finishing over ten Poodles of all three varieties for other people, in addition to major pointing several, we did not finish.
What makes your program special?
We are about preserving the breed for generations to come and producing dogs of the upmost quality to exceed expectations in not only the show ring but as a personal pet. We often hear “I don’t want a show dog, just a pet,” but it’s typically described as the breed standard as what you want in a pet. If we have a litter of 10, perhaps 7 will go to pet homes. We keep mainly for our line.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
