I'm Lisa P., the breeder behind ShadyOak Long Coat German Shepherds located in Elkton, MD. We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish all of our animals and enjoy sharing the love of this breed with other individuals and families! We strive to breed black and red west German showline puppies. With conformity to the breed, health and temperament are the first priorities. Puppies will be excellent companion dogs
We begin with friendly personalities able parents and work with the pups from birth with Early Neurological Stimulation. Puppies are raised in our home with other dogs, cats and plenty of love and attention. We start outdoor and pee pad training. We welcome home visits and always keep in touch with our pups. Approved applicants become part of our family too.
Q. & A. with Lisa
Why did you start breeding?
I found a breeder dedicated to educating dog owners of DM and working to help eliminate this debilitating defect. I selected my female and have raised her since a pup. I found another breeder focusing on the same ideas I wanted to breed for and she helped me obtain my wonderful male from Poland. I was pretty lucky to get him out just before the war started
What makes your program special?
I specialize in West German Showline long coat German shepherds. A focus on health an temperament with titled sires. Puppies will make excellent family pets, will be great in work or service or even have show potential.
Puppies are given Early Neurological Stimulation to help make the pups easier to train for service, companion or work. Puppies are independently tested for temperament and Volhard PAT (puppy aptitude test )
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
