Meet the breeder

I'm Lee M., the breeder behind Shaggy Mountain Pups LLC located in Herriman, UT. Our breeding females are our pets and live in our home or in a guardian home. The moms or puppies are never kept outside, in a garage, etc. Puppies are born and raised in our home. We do socialization activities with each puppy, including ENS, interaction with animals and people, car rides, etc.

Q. & A. with Lee

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding was never on my radar until we bought the most amazing dog ever! We had him neutered at 6 months old and regretted that decision. He was “the goodest boy”, and made us search for another equally amazing dog. When we found her, we knew we needed to carry on her lines. Between them, and learning all about responsible breeding, I was hooked! I love seeing our customers hold their new pup!
  • What makes your program special?

We have dogs who meet our health criteria, including joint testing, genetic testing, and excellent temperaments. You will notice our prices are typically lower. We could charge more for all we do, but we love giving more families an opportunity to own a well bred dog. We have also provided many puppies over the years as service or therapy dogs free of charge to give back.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies are mini size. Cavapoo puppies are miniature size. Goldendoodle puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Poodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies are tri-color. Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are black rust and white. Golden Retriever puppies are light golden. Goldendoodle puppies include cream, red, black, merle, and parti. Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include white and black and black and tan. Poodle puppies include white and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Easy peasy. We met in Elko. Zuko (now Zeus or Zuki) was ready to go - so adorable. And he still is two weeks later.

Lee was amazing and made the process smooth and clear. This was my first pet, and I never went through this type of process before but she answered every question that I had, provided me with all the paper work needed for his shots, etc, it was very easy from beginning to end. Now I always recommend her and the app Good Dog to everyone who asks about my perfect little pups!

I can’t express how wonderful it was to work with Lee! This is exactly the type of experience I would wish for anyone who is looking for their next best fur-friend! I first interacted with Lee before the litter was even born, and he answered all our questions and more! He went above and beyond and communicated to us throughout the entire process. He provided us with weekly updates on the litter from birth to our 8-week pickup. We received videos, pictures, and provided us with facetime opportunities to help us make our choice on which puppy we would be introducing to our family. We are so happy to have Harley (Cheddar) as part of our family, and she has seamlessly transitioned into our home! She is such a sweet girl with the cutest personality! From the moment we picked her up, we could tell she was well taken care of and is extremely comfortable around other people, our other dog, and settings outside of the home. If you are looking for a positive experience and extremely well-loved puppies, then I highly recommend reaching out to Shaggy Mountain Pups! I can’t say it enough but thank you Lee for the delightful experience in choosing and bringing home our mini bernedoodle Harley (Cheddar).

These people were super sweet and understanding. They were willing to drive part way to make my life a little easier. Mrs.Penny came to us sweet as pie and literally fit right in at our house. She was a little nervous at first about our dogs but turned right around in a few days. She was healthy and absolutely beautiful. Her and my cat became besties almost instantly. She also wa an AMAZING road dog for the 5hr drive home
