I'm Shelby B., the breeder behind Shelby Burleson's Golden Retrievers and Jack Russell Terriers located in Berthoud, CO. We offer quality family and farm-raised puppies. We have a passion for excellence and healthy family pets. Our goal is to produce a great representation of the Golden Retriever and the Jack Russel Terrier with excellent dispositions so that others may experience the joys of living life with these incredible breeds! We love our dogs!

Why did you start breeding?
My program is founded upon love and respect for all things dog, and I am passionate about placing the perfect pups into caring homes. I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy puppies for others to enjoy, and I do so by responsibly growing these incredible breeds!What makes your program special?
My dogs work hard, play hard, love hard, and are part of the family. I prepare all of my puppies to excel in life, and I am very conscious about who I rehome my puppies to, always ensuring that each one goes to the best home possible complementary to its personality and ability. In my breeding program, good health and temperament are essential, cuteness is guaranteed, and lots of love is always included!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Golden Retriever puppies are light golden. Jack Russell Terrier puppies include brown and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Shelby
Shelby has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $3,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Also included are the health guarantee, deworming, and the first vaccines. A deposit will be required after the puppies are born and thriving. Applicants will pay the deposit along with a signed contract. This is to protect you as well as us. We have references to contact with our previous puppies before you decide. *It’s understandable to be certain before your deposit. But puppy will not be held until deposit is received.”

About Pippin
Pippin is my love, a great mother, and she comes out to horse barn daily and sticks by my side. She loves truck rides, golf cart or tractor 🚜 rides. She’s very savy about horses and hunts small animals like mice and rabbits along with our other JRT’s. She loves bouncing through fresh año or lying in the sun. She’s a true four seasons girl. She’s had several litters and the owners of her pups are very happy with their special little ones !

Tink is gentle natured , with great curiosity and very cuddly each evening. She has great scenting and hunting skills on the farm. She gets along well with other dogs and cats . Is happy to go for a drive and loves a good movie in the arm chair with us. She is the daughter of Pippin and Peter pan. Both exceptional tempered dogs .

Maverick is an exceptional stud dog, with esteemed pedigree as well as looks and demeanor. He is gorgeous floating mover with correct shoulder and hip angles. He has wonderful conformation. Very correct in every way. A really fun dog to have on the farm and at home. He gets along well with other dogs, around horses and comes with an easy recall . He travels well in the car and loves a good cuddle or a lap to warm. Maverick loves the toy box and entertains himself and others with his antics. We are looking forward to this litter with great anticipation

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
