I'm Kelly S., the breeder behind Show Me Goldens located in Fair Grove, MO. We focus on breeding well rounded, even-tempered Golden Retrievers suitable for pet therapy and service work. Our adult dogs compete in Rally, Obedience, Lure Coursing, Scent Work and Conformation. We also thoroughly enjoy doing pet therapy.

Why did you start breeding?
While always a Retriever lover, I fell in love with Goldens after I met my friend's Golden Retriever. I am also a Frenchi mom and enthusiast! To know a Frenchie is to love one! They are true lovable clowns.
What makes your program special?
We are strict on breeding for a specific temperament. We aim to produce and raise Golden Retriever puppies with eager and bright minds that are suitable to participate in pet therapy or become service dogs. Facebook pages: Show Me Goldens

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Dentition, Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
