Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer G., the breeder behind Sierra Hills Retrievers located in Coarsegold, CA. When selecting our dogs as new family members, we chose them based on their parent's health, temperament, conformation and looks. Our puppies are bred with the same desired traits in mind and our goal is to bring new families the same joy we had when raising our puppies!

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

I had ALWAYS wanted to breed dogs! Even as a young kid. When we were 22 I convinced my husband that I wanted lab puppies and that I really wanted to breed them. We researched and found our first babies, bred them at 2, they made amazing puppies. We had 3 litters of puppies and then retired them. Years later after they passed we found our current breeding dogs/pets and are doing it again!
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding dogs are our pets. They won't ever be rehomed. Once they retire they will live the rest of their lives with us. With that being said, we will only have a couple of years of litters and 10+ years without until the cycle starts again.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Golden Retriever puppies include golden and light golden. Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
