I'm Chris F., the breeder behind Silverstone Cane Corso located in Crawfordsville, IN. We offer top-quality show prospects and pets. We breed for not only health, but temperament, and overall structural design of our dogs. We are highly competitive in the AKC show world and striving to produce the next “Dog of the Year”. We spend countless hours hunting down and finding what we feel are the best genetics for us, in not only the country but the world. We appreciate you taking the time to look at our dogs and hope to work with you in the future. We will answer any and all questions you may have to the best of our ability. Thanks again and God bless!!
Q. & A. with Chris
Why did you start breeding?
My mother was raising dogs before I was born, starting with Old English Sheepdogs in the ’80s before transitioning to breeding and showing Chinese Shar-Pei’s in the late 80s to mid-90s before moving to Golden Retrievers. As I grew up I started off with Rottweilers which gave me a love and respect for working dogs for not only their size, power, and demand for respect but their minds, the love for their families, and the lengths they would go to protect their humans. They are truly the Swiss Army knife of dogs!
What makes your program special?
A lot of time and care goes in to choosing the correct dogs to breed. We will only breed dogs of correct confirmation and great temperaments as outlined in the AKC breed standard. All our puppies are raised in our home, not in a kennel. All puppies are handled by us from birth to the time they leave us. For the first 3 weeks puppies are never left alone. We take a lot of care into early socialization, ENS (early neurological stimulation) and training to produce more confident, social and exploratory puppies that are well adapted for any situation. We are not a big breeder we only have a few litters a year. We are focused on quality well bred dogs and not quantity.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
