Meet the breeder

I'm Sheri S., the breeder behind Skagit Valley Schnauzers located in Mount Vernon, WA. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We are excited to produce outstanding family members. We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience. All puppies will be vaccinated and de-wormed. You will fall in love.

Q. & A. with Sheri

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have recently retired and have thought about breeding ever since I adopted my beautiful Princess Matilda. I have a dear breeder friend who sold me Ruby. She has taught me so much! I have read everything under the sun about the process. I took my time in finding the right sire. I found Sir Toby Lee who is a Wheaten with a mega coat and knew it was a perfect match. Both temperaments are fab!
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program consists of love, beautiful bloodlines and knowing the quality of life for these puppies are key. Our miniature schnauzers are our family. People can poke fun about being a backyard breeder, but we are the most loving and will not breed more than once a year. We will have time to properly care for all. I am grateful for the opportunity and know the importance of quality.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include wheaten and salt and pepper. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
