Meet the breeder

I'm Kathryn H., the breeder behind Skarlotte Goldens, LLC located in Argyle, TX. If you're on GD- you're looking for a puppy who's been poured into day & night with the highest quality care thus prepping them for life with you, has parents with that golden beauty & fantastic health even Champion lines, & was raised by someone you can trust! We're a licensed business & AKC inspected!

Q. & A. with Kathryn

  • Why did you start breeding?

It was a decade, well, over, on this journey before I actually whelped SKG's first litter. I started w fostering oodles of puppies. You might ask- didn't you think there are enough pups already? Yep- thing is, there's a beauty & NEED for purebred puppies, getting exactly what you/your family need (which a rescue pup can't often do). Raising Goldens gives me the opportunity to meet & exceed them!
  • What makes your program special?

Oh goodness - like many of my admirable peers, I am a hands-on breeder, always learning better methods like PC or Avidog, investing a full heart (and pocketbook)! I know my pups unique personality and can make the best match for your personal puppy needs & hopes! It's not just me - I've got an amazing, dedicated team of help who invest in, dote upon and even pick up poop for my beloved Skarlottes!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

After scouring many breeders for my next family addition I came across Skarlotte Goldens. I was impressed with all the information available about Kathryn, her program, the parents, and the availability to see their health test screenings. When I reached out to Kathryn we spoke for over an hour getting to know one another. She made me feel comfortable and confident in my choice of breeders. She took the time getting to know me and what I was looking for, explained her process in breeding and matching pups to their new owners. She is extremely thoughtful and throurough. Due to work issues I wasn't able to attend her events to see and get to know the pups but she sent me videos, emails, and texts keeping me in the loop. She chose for me the one that best suited me, my lifestyle, what I was looking for in a dog, and would get along with my other dogs and it's been fantastic! A terrific match. I can't sing her praises enough and I know should I ever have questions I can always reach out to Kathryn and she will be supportive to help me along the way.

If you prefer more of a challenge, and do not want the perfect dog, I don't recommend Skarlotte Golden's. But if you want a good dog that's perfect from day one, that has great breeding, goodtemperament and is well socializedearly... This is the place. This was my first time buying a puppy so I took my time finding the right breeder and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Particularly with the dog. He's been perfect from that first ride home. The process of getting him eased all of the anxieties I had as a 1st time buyer. She will get to know you, your wants and lifestyle a little bit so that when match day come you end up with the best possible result. I can only speak for myself, but I don't think I could have found a better breeder and definitely could not have found a better dog. Thank you Kathryn for helping me complete my home.

Working with Kathryn was an absolute joy. Otis is our first Golden, so we came with lots of questions. Kathryn was so intentional in answering each one and incredibly patient as she guided us toward the right puppy for our family. What stood out most was how Kathryn took the time to really watch how our family connected with the puppies, while also listening carefully to the top three qualities we hoped for in a dog. She truly is a Golden whisperer. Her love and care for these dogs shines through in every step of the process. When the time comes for us to welcome a second Golden into our home, Kathryn will be the very first person we call—we can’t wait to work with her again.

Kathryn’s Golden Retriever program is top tier! She has so much knowledge about the breed from early puppyhood development to continual enrichment and excellent insight into matching the perfect puppy with their forever family. We had a fantastic experience communicating with Kathryn from inquiring about puppies to meeting the puppies and bring our golden girl home. We’ve already recommended Skarlott Goldens to several other friends and family interested in the breed and adding to their family unit. Even after the first week of hiking our puppy girl, Kathryn has been helpful and responsive to any and all questions we love thrown at her! 10/10. Would adopt here again!
