Sleepy Grove Goldens

Heather G.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Heather G., the breeder behind Sleepy Grove Goldens located in Gentry, AR. Our breeding program emphasizes health testing, quality genetics, temperament, working skills, and trainability. Through selective breeding and genetic testing, we strive to better the breed. Whether you are looking for your next companion, show dog, or service dog; we would be happy to help you!

Q. & A. with Heather

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with Golden Retrievers after we brought home our first Golden. I became determined to learn about the health, genetics, and structure of the Golden Retriever and began participating in dog shows. This naturally led into wanting to breed healthy, correct dogs. My goal in each breeding is to improve. We strongly believe in preserving this wonderful breed.
  • What makes your program special?

Our girls have excellent personalities, are excited to work, and are award winning and versatile. Before breeding, we carefully select a sire that compliments our girl in order to produce what we feel will be an improvement toward the ideal representation of the breed. We make sure our girls and their sires have been health and DNA tested and we breed with a purpose.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
