I'm Jana S., the breeder behind Smart Dalmatians located in Westhoff, TX. Our mission is to raise healthy, happy, adorable Dalmatian puppies and connect loving families with their new best friend! Raising puppies has been so much fun, although we take our role in raising them seriously. Breeding has helped us share the joy of our dogs with other families and individuals.

Why did you start breeding?
I had Dalmatians as a child!What makes your program special?
Our dogs are a part of our family. They are constantly interacting with our four children (under 15yrs old). We strive to be transparent and honest with our puppy parents.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Jana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price
“$1575 (HUA) or $1875 (LUA) for limited registration. Full registration is $2000 (HUA) or $2300 (LUA). There is a non-refundable $400 deposit that goes towards the total price.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Daisy is a female Dalmatian. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Jana decided to make her part of their program. Jana has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Parent health testing
Excellent level
Smart Dalmatians reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dalmatians.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Hyperuricosuria (HUU)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Jana was responsive, very pleasant and sent us pics once a week. My husband drove 1,100 miles each way to pick up Maisie at 9 weeks! Jana had a scent rag ready, puppy bathed, to go bag, puppy records, a packet of information. She had a nice spacious habitat for the puppies.

+7I got Olive about 2 weeks ago. She had her first vet appointment yesterday with absolutely no issues. She is so sweet and cuddly, and she sleeps a lot!!! But she also loves to play and gets very excited quickly. She loves all her toys and most of all her cousins!
