Meet the breeder

I'm Jeannie G., the breeder behind Smokingold Retreivers located in O'fallon, MO. Our dogs are bred to produce healthy, sound, and versatile pups. Our ultimate goal is to produce athletic and well-structured canines that can excel within various performance venues and have the ability to be the greatest family companions. We breed puppies for health and longevity that meet the breed standard and have a desire to please.

Q. & A. with Jeannie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We want to do our part to better the breed. Our breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the Golden Retriever while placing an emphasis on producing puppies of superior health, intelligence, and personality. Our dogs have proven to be incredible, loving companions, and we wanted to share that experience with others by producing healthy, happy puppies. It is so fulfilling to share this joy with others!
  • What makes your program special?

We take great care with each breeding to ensure we are producing puppies that are excellent representations of the breed. We love what we do and truly want the very best for our puppies and their forever families. While many of our dogs have made exceptional performance show prospects, all of them have become excellent family dogs and lifelong friends!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
