I'm James, Melissa & Laura M., the breeder behind Snowdancer Kennels, Reg located in Westfield, VT. We are an AKC Breeder of Merit Bronze of Siberian Huskies, we have been active long enough within the AKC events to now have a registered kennel name. We do conformation, rally, weight pulling, obedience, and recreational sledding. Our daughter does canine 4-H with her dog as well. Be aware of breeders that only DNA test, there is no way to predict Siberian eye issues without testing,.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My husband and I both loved wolves, as any responsible person would do, we did not get a wolf but a close looking relative. We, unfortunately, learned the hard way about the breed by first adopting from a shelter. Our dog had many ingrained behavioral issues which led us to find a responsible breeder to purchase from. We have learned that temperament has nothing to do with color even tho we all have our favorite color

  • What makes your program special?

    We only breed to keep one or more for ourselves. Most of our dogs are related and it shows in the consistency in their look. All of our dogs are health tested and are active in some sort of sport ie weight pulling, conformation, Fast Cat, Rally obedience, or AKC Temperament testing. Puppies are only ever born and raised in the house. They are exposed to sounds, cats, different flooring and textures.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from James, Melissa & Laura

James, Melissa & Laura partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“We only breed when we are looking to add to our pack, never for money only. We always hold first pick male and female. We are looking for conformation and temperment for the show ring and cannot make a final selection until 7-8 weeks. Then puppies are then allowed to be picked in order of when deposit was received. Just because you might be last in picking you will not be disappointed.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“It comes with a 5 year health guarantee, Limited Registration papers, first shots, microchips, several dewormings, flea, and tick treatment as well as heartworm treatment. Toy with mom odor and food. And always a 24/7 helpline for any questions. The deposit is refundable after 3 years only if we cannot provide you the sex you of your choice. We do not use deposits for colors of eyes and coats.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
