I'm Jasmine M., the breeder behind Solara Standard Poodles located in Phoenix, AZ. Our program focuses on improving the quality of multi-colored standard poodles. To achieve this, we maintain high standards for our program including: OFA testing, PennHip testing, CHIC #, Diversity testing, Genetic testing, temperament testing, Obedience & Sport Titles, and UKC conformation titles.

Why did you start breeding?
I have been passionate about dog showmanship and ethical breeding from a young age. The small spark that began as simple fascination into the world of dogs has ignited to what I can proudly call Solara Standard Poodles. Prior to Solara, we bred and showed Pomeranians for several years. In 2020, we purchased our first poodle and our lives were forever changed.What makes your program special?
The testing tools we use include: OFA, PennHip, CHIC number, Embark DNA testing, PawPrint & UC Davis Genetic testing, Diversity testing, and Temperament testing. Our puppy protocol includes: ENS & ESI exercises, early sound & scent exposure, grooming desensitization (beginning at 2 weeks), touch desensitization (hands, feet, mouth, etc.), Volhard temperament testing, & early socialization.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

“Our puppy price includes up to date vaccinations and dewormer, a wellness examined performed by a veterinarian, microchip, temperament testing, AKC registration, and a 1 year health guarantee. Pet puppies are sold on limited AKC registration with a mandatory spay/neuter contract. If you are interested in a show home, please inquiry regarding my policies.”

Parent health testing
Excellent level
Solara Standard Poodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Temperament Test, Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
