I'm Kirstie S., the breeder behind Solstice Standards located in Fort Collins, CO. We are dedicated to providing your family with wonderful, healthy, family pets. We carefully selected and screen both of them for health, temperament and child friendliness.

Why did you start breeding?
When we got Grace in 2022 we planned to breed her if she was healthy, well matched and continued to have a wonderful temperament. After 3 1/2 years of further preparation, study and experience, we are happy to announce the arrival of her first litter!
What makes your program special?
We are very thoughtful about raising puppies that will be part of your family regardless of your age and activity level. Our dogs are very active in multiple companion, performance and showmanship events. That said, they are quiet and well manned too especially at home. We are focused on raising healthy puppies and finding the right match for each of them in their new family.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, red, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kirstie

Kirstie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Kirstie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 9 weeks old.

“In addition to making sure each puppy is evaluated by our veterinarian, we also want to make sure that we have input from a professional about their temperament. This will help all of us in determining which puppy best matches what you are looking for.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Solstice Standards reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
