I'm Yvette J., the breeder behind Songbird Standard Schnauzers located in Bowie, MD. Songbird Standard Schnauzers are family companions first, and train for the conformation and performance rings.
We breed for health, temperament, structural correctness according to the national Standard Schnauzer Club of America (SSCA), and, as working dogs, for performance.
Our Sires and Dams are OFA-tested conformation champions with performance titles. Songbird Standard Schnauzer puppies are raised using Avidog and Puppy Culture protocols to ensure they have a strong foundation to becoming the excellent family companions they are bred to be.
Q. & A. with Yvette
Why did you start breeding?
My breeder, groomer and mentor is how I got started. She offered to mentor me in the conformation ring when I acquired my first show puppy, and it took off from there. She has mentored and guided me in breeding and raising outstanding puppies with excellent temperaments to become wonderful companions to their forever-home owners.
What makes your program special?
My puppies are raised in my home and are part of the family. I use the Avidog and Puppy Culture protocols which provide excellent enrichment experiences and socialization to help develop calm and confident puppies who became excellent companions.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and pepper and salt. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
