I'm Brock B., the breeder behind Soul Poodiful located in Burley, ID. We offer well-balanced, happy puppies that have been socialized and love to be loved. We breed for health, temperament, and take great pride in having several puppies in training to be therapy dogs. Our dogs are our family and live with us and spend all their time with us.
Q. & A. with Brock
Why did you start breeding?
We initially bred English Bulldogs, but once we were introduced to Standard Poodles, we were hooked! Why didn't we discover how wonderful poodles were before now? We're so happy to be on this awesome journey and have loved every second with our pups!
What makes your program special?
We raise the puppies under our feet and as part of our family. We socialize, stimulate, and prepare the puppies for a long, well-balanced life with their forever families. They are affectionate, intelligent, and cute as can be!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, black, brown, cream, red, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Soul Poodiful reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
