I'm Rebecca R., the breeder behind Southern Cross Australian Labradoodles located in Covington, LA. We are a small, home based breeder. We are hands on with every puppy that we produce and vet our buyers.

Why did you start breeding?
I was looking for a dog that did not shed when I found the Australian Labradoodle online in 2003. At the time, there were not very many breeders in the US so I traveled to Australia and met with the founders of the breed to learn more. I purchased my first girl from them.What makes your program special?
Since we have been breeding for 16 years, a large percentage of my buyers are getting their second and third dogs from us. We love watching children grow up with our dogs and feel their pain when they have to say goodbye. We love sharing our dogs and puppies. Puppy pick up day is so special. No one is ever sad when they are picking up a puppy!What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include medium and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include caramel ice, caramel cream, caramel, caramel red, red, gold, apricot, cream, chalk, chocolate, cafe, lavendar, parchment, black, blue, silver, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Rebecca may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), von Willebrand Disease II (vWD II), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (rcd3)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
