I'm Jeff & Christy M., the breeder behind Southern Springers located in Lynchburg, VA. We believe the first 8-12 weeks of a puppy's life matter. That is why we are NOT a kennel. We are family breeders who nurture and raise 2-3 quality litters a year with exorbitant care and attention in our home. We also take great pride in preparing and finding the perfect puppy match for your home.
Q. & A. with Jeff & Christy
Why did you start breeding?
Grandma was a dog breeder and our neighbors were so in love with our first Springer Maddie girl that we thought we'd breed one time for friends and family and be done, but we've had a waiting list ever since. Most of our families return for 2nd and 3rd pups. That was 15 years ago. People come from all over the U.S. because they trust us and believe in our process and the health history of dogs.
What makes your program special?
We recently partnered with one of our own Southern Springers' families to employ adults with special needs. Together, we socialize and give the pups a great start to make your role easier as you continue their love and training at home. We spend 6-8 hours a day with our pups and know them intimately before we carefully match them to your home. You will love seeing how they are raised!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and white and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
