I'm Ginger B., the breeder behind Southwind Kennel located in Sweet Valley, PA. I offer top-quality Golden Retriever puppies with a focus on health, form, and function. I believe quality is more important than quantity. My goal is to produce a great representation of the Golden Retriever breed and to continue improving the line with each generation. I have many years of experience and am always striving to learn more!
Q. & A. with Ginger
Why did you start breeding?
A consistent love for the Golden Retriever breed and dog training encouraged the beginning of South Wind Kennel. I wanted to do my part as a responsible breeder and produce healthy pups to the breed standard.
What makes your program special?
My passion for this breed is poured into every aspect of my breeding program. I truly love my dogs and what I do. I strive to produce quality puppies for families that are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive, and have wonderful temperaments. There is nothing more fulfilling than finding the perfect home for each pup.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Ginger
Ginger has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $800 deposit and between $2,000 - $2,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price difference of the puppy has nothing to do with what sex puppy you buy, it depends on who we bred our female with. Meaning: did we use a stud dog owned by us or someone else. If we bred to a stud dog owned by someone else, we are paying a higher stud fee, transportation costs, etc.
Before going home at 8 weeks our Veterinarian will do the following: all puppies will have had their first set of puppy vaccines, full exam, stool sample checked and supply a health certificate specifically for each puppy.
. Deposits are non-refundable UNLESS the breeding resulted in no puppies, OR there were no puppies in the sex you requested, and you do not want to switch over to the opposite sex you originally requested. You also have the option to move your deposit to the next available litter. It's your choice.”
Contract & health guarantee
Ginger may provide a written contract or
health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps
protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you
both have a clear understanding of the terms of your
puppy purchase. If Ginger offers a contract
or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them.
