I'm Kalina W., the breeder behind Sovereignty Woods Great Danes located in Altoona, AL. Hello, my husband and I want to provide families with happiest and healthiest companion Great Danes possible. Our pups are hand raised inside our home and will come to you pre-spoiled and very loved. We offer lifetime breeder support and will always be here if you need us.

  • What makes your program special?

    My puppies are all raised indoors in their very own suites and spoiled from birth until they leave me to go to loving families. They are handled multiple times a day and given many different sensory experiences indoors and outside. All my adult dogs and breeding pairs are fully health tested including all breed recommended genetic, OFA, and PennHip testing.

Getting a puppy from Kalina

Kalina has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kalina partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The $2200 price is limited AKC registration, age appropriate vaccinations and worming, pre-registered microchip, and a goody bag. Ear cropping is available. Very select few may obtain breeding rights. $300 deposit is due when puppies are selected. May carry deposit to next litter but will not be refunded unless very limited circumstances are met, i.e. extreme personal or family illness ect...”

Kalina may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Kalina was very responsive with all of my questions and concerns. This was my first time getting a Great Dane so I was a little nervous because of all the different things people had said but Kalina was very patient and answered all of my questions and didn’t make me feel stupid (even when the questions were a little out there). My pup Athena has an amazing temperament and is very spoiled and sassy, this was a perfect match and I would 100% recommend Sovereignty Woods Great Danes to anyone interested!

    This has been the most well behaved, easiest to train (besides our border collie), most loving puppy ever. We could not have asked for more. I would recommend SWGD to ANYONE looking for a great dane.
