I'm Christina S., the breeder behind Spear Haven Beagles (formerly Spear Lake Beagles) located in Meridianville, AL. We take pride in preserving champion AKC Beagle bloodlines through our small, in-home program. Puppies receive early potty-training, socialization, vet exams, deworming and age-appropriate vaccines.   • Why did you start breeding?

    Our love for Beagles began with two overbred rescue girls with temperament and training challenges. Later rescuing two more with similar histories showed us why responsible breeding matters. Our pack includes rescues, who are never bred, and well-bred AKC Beagles selected for our program. With mentorship, we breed selectively to preserve the Beagle’s health, temperament and wonderful character.

  • What makes your program special?

    Spear Haven is a small, preservation-focused program producing only one or two planned litters each year. Puppies are born and raised inside our home with family and our Beagle pack, receiving early socialization and potty-training foundations. We own both parents and know their temperaments firsthand. Every pairing is thoughtfully selected to preserve strong, healthy Beagle bloodlines.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are 13-inch size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include tan and white, red, brown, blue and white, blue, black tan and white, black tan and bluetick, black fawn and white, lemon and white, and lemon. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Christina

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Christina partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit that secures a specific puppy. The remaining $2,300 - $2,700 is due before pickup, plus applicable taxes and fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

    Our experience with Christina and her husband, Todd, of Spear Lake Beagles could not have been better! They are so transparent about their practices and are such a wholesome family. It was clear from the start that they have so much love for their fur-family, take such wonderful care of them, and raise their puppies to be amazing family members. My husband and I got two girl beagles for my parents who lost their last doggy over a year ago. Millie and Mabel were the best surprise that we could have given them. They are beautiful, so loving, and have the best temperament. Christina made the process very smooth and easy. They were kind enough to meet us at a convenient location for pick up and gifted us with amazing care packages for the puppies. Millie and Mabel were seen by their family vet multiple times before coming home with us and are such healthy and happy babies. Our family is in love with them.
