Most pups had 18 day old pics today. If you don’t see new pics of your pup don’t worry, they will all be done shortly. These are nothing fancy, I take them with my phone just trying to show growth and those cute eyes all open now. Better pictures come age 4 weeks plus. Thanks friends. Sunny is asleep, he gets his own pic session after naps!

☀️ SUNNY HAS A MAMA! ☀️ Our sweet little lemon boy Sunny (orange collar) received his deposit today, and my heart is just about bursting! 💛 After the most wonderful video call, Suzanne — all the way down in Florida, the Sunshine State! — fell head over heels for our Sunny boy. And can we just talk about how perfect that is? A boy named Sunny going to live in the Sunshine State! ☀️🐾 Here's the part that got me... Suzanne is welcoming Sunny into her heart in memory of her special guy, Hank. Different boys, same beautiful love. Same hearts, different chapters, more love still. 💛 Hank was so deeply loved, and I just know he's smiling down knowing his mama's heart is opening up to love again. Sunny has some big paw prints to follow — but something tells me he's more than up for it. Congratulations, Suzanne! We can't wait to watch your beautiful new chapter unfold! 🐶💛 Follow us on Facebook as well- Spear Haven Beagles

New pet parents are beginning to ask what items are required for their pups so they can prepare. We can guide you on the right direction. The following are some items we regularly use and like for puppy training, feeding and playtime. It is not required that you get everything on the list, or even if you do you won't need to get everything at once. We will be glad to discuss the list and help you determine what works in your situation. Don't forget your puppy comes with a go home goody bag that's full of starter toys, starter food and other items we think you & pup will enjoy. Since Good Dog won't allow the link here, we will be glad to email you the list — just ask! Or you can also visit Spear Haven Beagles on Facebook to see the list.

I snapped a couple of pictures for yall this morning when I had everyone out of the whelping box to clean it. The pups are starting to get around just enough that some made their way off the snoopy blanket! Dolly thinks cleaning is rather boring so she yawned!

🐾 Crate Training Starts Early at Spear Haven Beagles! 🐾 One of the things we want for every Spear Haven puppy is to make that transition from our home to yours as easy and comfortable as possible. That’s why we don’t wait until go-home day to introduce a crate. Beginning at around 4 weeks old, we gently start introducing our puppies to crate training. ❤️ At this age, it isn’t about shutting a tiny puppy in a crate and expecting them to “figure it out.” It’s about making the crate a positive, familiar and safe place from the very beginning. We start slowly—letting them explore, nap and become comfortable in and around the crate. As they grow, we gradually build on those little successes. The goal is for our puppies to learn that their crate means rest, safety and security—not punishment. By the time our puppies leave Spear Haven, crate training isn’t something completely new and scary that their families have to introduce on that first night. We’ve already started laying the foundation for you. 🏡🐶 Will an 8-week-old puppy come home completely crate trained? Of course not! They’re still babies, and consistency at home matters. But they’ll go home already having experience with a crate and a head start toward sleeping, traveling and settling comfortably in one. We believe those little things matter. Raising a puppy isn’t only about those adorable eight weeks we get to love them—it’s about preparing them for the lifetime waiting for them on the other side of our door. ❤️ Spear Haven Beagles Raised with love. Prepared for home. 🐾

💛 Two weeks old today! 💛 Our Sunroom Blessings turned 2 weeks old today, and I can hardly believe how much they've changed in just 14 days! These babies are GROWING — getting chunkier and rounder by the day, and they are on the move! We've gone from tiny sleepy newborns to a wiggly, squirmy pile of puppies scooting all around their bed. Nobody's walking just yet, but they're army-crawling like little champs to find Momma Dolly. And the biggest excitement — some of them have started opening their eyes! 👀 There is nothing sweeter than those tiny little slits starting to peek open at the big wide world. Week 3 is going to be SO much fun, y'all. This is the week their personalities really start to shine through. We'll be introducing their very first toys, and if we're lucky we might hear their first little barks and baby howls as they find their voices. They'll also get their first deworming one week from today to keep them healthy and growing strong. Momma Dolly is doing wonderful and is so proud of her babies. This is her final litter, and we are soaking up every single second. Say hello to our six little blessings: 💚 Ace • 💛 Ray • 🩷 Ruby Rose • 💚 Miles • 🧡 Sunny • 💙 Apollo Which one is stealing your heart? —- the first 3 images are ai generated based on all the snapshots from today.

🐾 THE DOGS WE HAVE LOVED & LOST 🐾 My first dog was named Freckles. I’ll never forget going to the “dog pound,” as we called it back then, and picking her out. Or maybe she picked us. She was so happy to come home with our family. Truth be told, there was a little black dog there that I wanted. I can still remember that little dog all these years later. But Freckles was the dog our family chose, and that certainly didn’t make me love her any less. She lived a good, long life. When my brother and I grew up and moved out, Freckles stayed with Mom. So for years, going home to visit Mom also meant getting to see Freckles again. But looking back, I never really thought of Freckles as my dog. She was our family dog. Fast forward a few years. When Zach was little, he wanted a dog SO badly. So off to the shelter we went. That’s where we found Brewster, a black Lab/Border Collie mix. Zach named him, and Brewster turned out to be one of those incredibly loving, smart dogs you never forget. He lived a nice life, too. Rest easy, sweet Brewster. ❤️ And still, I wouldn’t have called myself one of those crazy dog people. Then along came Todd. And with Todd came Beagles. Or perhaps I should say two Beagles came barreling into my life and changed everything. Their names were Sophia and Maria. As sometimes happens during a divorce, there had been some back and forth over who would keep the dogs. Then one day Todd got a message through the lawyers: Pick up the dogs by 4:00 that afternoon or they were going to the dog pound. There wasn’t much time. Todd made some calls, arranged to leave work, picked me up and I tagged along for the ride. I waited in the truck while he went to get them. And then here came Sophia and Maria. They were muddy. They were stinky. They were dirty. And they were absolutely PERFECT. 😂 Those two Beagle girls climbed right up into my lap to say hello the way Beagles do. Tails wagging. Noses investigating. Paws everywhere. They didn’t care that we had only just met. As far as Sophia and Maria were concerned, we were friends now. By the time we drove away, I was covered in muddy Beagle paw prints. And somewhere underneath all that mud, something happened. That was the day I became a dog person. And I suppose it was also the day my love affair with Beagles began. ❤️🐾 There is just something about a Beagle. Those eyes. Those ears. That happy tail. That nose that has absolutely no intention of listening to anything you have to say once it finds something interesting. 😂 But more than anything, it’s the way they love. Sophia and Maria became my girls, too. Technically, they had been Todd’s dogs first. But I was their Momma for many years before the end of their lives came around. And let me tell you something… Life does not prepare you for that part. It doesn’t matter whether they started out as “his,” “hers,” “the kids’,” or “the family dog.” Somewhere along the way, they simply become yours. Sophia and Maria still hold a very big piece of my heart. But even then, I had never really gone out and gotten a dog that was just mine. And then one day… Rambo Buddy walked into my yard. Literally. That old Boston Terrier showed up, left, and came back again. And again. Until eventually his owners let him stay with me and finish out his life right where he apparently had decided he belonged. We quickly dropped the “Rambo.” He became simply Buddy. My Buddy. My Buddy Boy. ❤️ And for the first time in my life, I really felt like I had a dog of my very own. Buddy Boy was one of those dogs we thought just might live forever. Of course, they never do. And no matter how many years they give us, it never feels like enough. Meanwhile, somewhere in the middle of all this, Todd and I fostered many, many dogs. Dogs came through our doors needing a safe place, some love and a chance to find where they belonged. And somehow… The woman who spent most of her life around dogs but never really having a dog of her own ended up with so many dogs she could hardly count them. 😂🐾 There have been rescues. There have been Beagles. There have been foster dogs. There have been dogs with unknown beginnings and dogs with beautiful AKC champion pedigrees. There have been dogs who stayed only a little while and dogs who became permanent members of our family. There have been new puppies. And unfortunately, there have been heartbreaking goodbyes. After losing Sophia and Maria not terribly far apart, Todd and I said something people often say when their hearts are broken: “We’re not getting any more dogs.” Well… That was a lie. 😂 Because here we are today with a whole pack — rescues and pedigreed Beagles together — and somehow they make up exactly the pack we were meant to have. And now Beagles aren’t simply dogs that came into my life because Todd already had two. They have become a huge part of our life. Funny to think it all started for me with two dirty, stinky Beagle girls climbing into my lap and covering me in muddy paw prints. Sophia and Maria had absolutely no idea what they started that afternoon. Or maybe they did. ❤️ Every dog that came before the ones we have today helped get us here. Freckles. Brewster. Sophia. Maria. Buddy Boy. And all those foster dogs whose pawprints crossed our lives along the way. You learn something when you love animals long enough. Loving another dog after losing one doesn’t replace the one you lost. There isn’t a replacement. You simply make another space in your heart. And somehow the heart stretches. So today I want to hear about your pets. ❤️🐾 If you’ve ever loved and lost a pet, tell me their name and their story. Better yet, put their picture in the comments so we can see the face that still holds a piece of your heart. And I’m especially curious about this… After you lost them, did you eventually get another pet? Or were you one of those people like us who said, “Never again”… …and then discovered that apparently “never again” sometimes has four paws and shows up anyway. ❤️🐾Todd Spear

☀️🐾 Meet the Sunroom Blessings Litter! 🐾☀️ Spear Haven family, our six little blessings are officially 10 days old, have their names, and are now wearing tiny colored collars to help us tell everyone apart. Their eyes should begin opening any day now, and then the real fun of watching their individual personalities emerge will begin! For now, let’s officially introduce them: 🩵 Ace — light blue collar Our firstborn tricolor boy, recognized by the single black dot on top of his head. That one special mark—and his place as number one—made Ace the perfect name. 💛 Ray — yellow collar Our lemon-and-white boy with the wide white blaze. His name represents a ray of sunshine, but it also honors Ray, the owner of the beautiful place where we stayed all summer and very nearly made our permanent home. Yes, he is the owner of the house that got away! Ray is a genuinely great guy who showed us kindness during an uncertain season, and I wanted one of these special babies to carry his name. 🩷 Ruby Rose — pink collar Our only girl! Her beautiful name was inspired by the rich jewel tones and floral beauty found throughout Miss Evelyn’s handmade stained-glass artwork. 💚 Miles — green collar A tricolor boy whose name represents all the miles our family traveled during this unforgettable season of moving, selling our home and searching for where we belong next. 🧡 Sunny — orange collar Our very white lemon-and-white boy, named for the warm, sun-filled room where these little blessings entered the world. 💙 Apollo — blue collar Our sixth and final tricolor boy, with a strong name inspired by light, sunshine and the heavens. Please officially welcome Ace, Ray, Ruby Rose, Miles, Sunny and Apollo—the Sunroom Blessings Litter! Right now, their days are filled with nursing, sleeping, snuggling and growing. Next milestone: those sweet little eyes beginning to open! We’ll continue sharing updates as each puppy starts showing us exactly who they are. Now that you can identify them by their collars, tell us—which Sunroom Blessing has already stolen your heart? ☀️🐶❤️ Spear Haven Beagles Formerly Spear Lake Beagles

Christina was very very responsive and provided a plethora of information about the breed and about the puppy. He was raised well and easily trained upon delivery (all with treats and toys and paperwork). The new addition to my household is great.

Our experience with Christina and her husband, Todd, of Spear Lake Beagles could not have been better! They are so transparent about their practices and are such a wholesome family. It was clear from the start that they have so much love for their fur-family, take such wonderful care of them, and raise their puppies to be amazing family members. My husband and I got two girl beagles for my parents who lost their last doggy over a year ago. Millie and Mabel were the best surprise that we could have given them. They are beautiful, so loving, and have the best temperament. Christina made the process very smooth and easy. They were kind enough to meet us at a convenient location for pick up and gifted us with amazing care packages for the puppies. Millie and Mabel were seen by their family vet multiple times before coming home with us and are such healthy and happy babies. Our family is in love with them. We couldn’t be happier that they are part of our lives. We will forever be grateful to Christina and Todd for this wonderful experience and for the years of happiness we’re sure to have with our girls!
