We love our puppers from Springers Journey. Our family was very sad to lose our 15 year old Springer we had since 6 weeks old. He was an older brother to my human boys and my first child. When he passed we had a huge missing piece from our family. We looked around off and on for 2 years and saw our now fur baby. We decided to take a leap and put down the deposit. He was many states away, but we also wanted to visit the area. We drove out and Teresa drove and met us part of the way. He was ADORABLE and soooo sweet. The name that was a holding place was Oakley. WE LOVED the name, so it stuck. He was a funny puppy. He would lay belly up on our kiddos next to the kids and was just the softest cutest thing. He wasn’t really a barker, he gnawed on little things, he was OBSESSED with dryer sheets, and could magic them out of a load, so we had to be highly aware. He’s now 2 years old, he acts like a little brother to my human kiddos. He no longer gnaws on a single thing. He can be home and never barks. He is kennel trained but we haven’t used it in months, he puts his toys in there but he curls up with us every night. He loves his walks, if the kids get upset he comes and finds them. He also picked up alerting to my seizures a little over a year ago. He always alerts now. My human Son turned 13 and sadly had his first seizure. Oakley started to alert at him and we were like why? What the… and we were able to react when my son went down. He is a great companion, he loves the dog park, and loves his toys. He is gentle with his stuffies and loves dog soccer balls. He will bring it to you to throw over and over again. He’s a little spicy, He refuses to come sometimes, unless you act like he already did it and say, “Come, Come, awwww good job good boy!” Especially if he has done something he knows isn’t his, like occasionally getting tissue out of the trash. He also brings you the thing he isn’t suppose to have like a sock, he never chews them, but it’s like he’s asking, he will totally run if you get up to chase him. But, we have trained him to “drop-it” every time you say drop it, he will. And he doesn’t hide anything from us to find later (I’ve had dogs that did that) on walks he is leash trained, he is great with other dogs. We have a cat that is 15 and she weighs 6 pounds so much smaller than Oakley, she will now cuddle him when he isn’t bounding away. He lays and she will curl and he gets excited she is with him and wags his little nub tail. He is a huge part of our family now. We love him so much we named his middle name and he took our last to create Oakley Riker Rhodes, and we are so thankful to have such a beautiful, great tempered, pup!

Teresa made sure that we were updated on everything going on leading up to getting our puppy and has been a tremendous help after we got him with answering any questions we have. She’s very knowledgeable about the breed and it’s clear she really cares about the wellbeing of her puppies both during their time with her and beyond!
