I'm Louise S., the breeder behind S&R Ranch located in Santa Margarita, CA. Our dogs are bred to be hunters and pets. They grow up on 15 acres, get used to ranch life (tractors, livestock, children), are well socialized, and up to date on vaccines and dewormings. Then they are ready for your loving home!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I wanted to continue improving and preserving the beagle line. I want others to fall in love with beagles too!

  • What makes your program special?

    Our dogs are ranch dogs through and through, which makes for a wonderful companion and little helper!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black red and white, white black and tan, black tan and redtick, and lemon and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Louise

Louise has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $1,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes full AKC registration (can attend shows, breeding rights), vaccines, deworming, microchip, wellness exam and a beautiful puppy! Deposits are non refundable. Please be sure a beagle is right for you before putting down a deposit.”

Contract & health guarantee

Louise may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Working with Louise from S&R Ranch was amazing. She was so helpful through the process from beginning to end. She asked if I had a name for my new puppy and started calling him that name for me so he got used to it. He was healthy and clean at pickup and you could tell he was loved from the start. If I ever get another beagle it will be through Louise and her family.
