Shayla T.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Shayla T., the breeder behind Stage Gulch Goldens located in Petaluma, CA. Our dogs live in our home and are raised on our ranch. Our mission is to use our dogs for therapy, whether that be at the hospital, in the nursing home or at church. Our hope is to one day have all of our dogs help improve your quality of life!

Q. & A. with Shayla

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first Golden was Noam, the love of my life. He was beyond perfect in all ways. His temperament was one of a kind; he was docile, confident, loving, affectionate, regal, and my best friend. My patient’s and the other nurses loved him, they couldn’t stop raving about his temperament. I knew I had to breed him to preserve his legacy. That’s when I started researching healthy breeding practices.
  • What makes your program special?

Since beginning my breeding program I have made it my mission to use my dogs for therapy, whether that be at the hospital, in the nursing home or at church. My hope is to one day have all of my dogs help others in one way or another. It’s comforting knowing that they impact so many lives in a positive manner.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
