I'm Robert S., the breeder behind Stockford’s Golden Retrievers located in Doniphan, MO. We love this breed and the experience of having litters! Our mission is to raise pups that are set to become the best companions. We have developed several protocols to ensure the health and well-being of all of our dogs. It’s our top priority to make sure each of our puppy families welcomes a happy and healthy new family member into their homes!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My mother and father were golden retriever breeders for quite a number of years. I love goldens, I had one growing up and it was my favorite dog ever! My wife and I both love animals especially dogs and we naturally decided to breed Goldens after the wonderful experience my parents had, and of course they are the best and most loving and friendly dogs on the planet!

  • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding dogs (our pets) have passed all of the OFA and Genetic testing and are cleared to breed. Our puppies have made wonderful pets to there new families. We get pictures and updates from many of our clients. Its wonderful to see the difference our puppies have made in the lives of their forever families.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Robert

Robert has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Robert partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“We ask our clients to make their selection between week 5-6. You get to select when it is your turn in line, on a First come first serve basis. We do first pick male and first pick female until all puppies are spoken for. This litter has 6 males and 2 females.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“$2,500 for limited AKC Registeration $3,000 for Full AKC Registeration.”

Contract & health guarantee

Robert may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Puppies were well cared for at the kennel with the aide of Robert and Olga’s children who assisted during our initial visit.
