I'm Colleen W., the breeder behind Stoneybrook Working Dogs located in Crow Wing County, MN. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and conformation. We strive to produce beautiful and versatile beloved companions. Our goal is to preserve the line of these incredible companions as well as provide others with quality-bred working dogs.     Purposeful and ethical breeding is so important for the healthy progression of the Maremma Sheepdog. Stoneybrook is dedicated to preserving the inherent qualities of this magnificent breed. The Maremma Sheepdog has been developed for its strong pack instinct and independent and protective nature.

    At Stoneybrook, we strive to raise only sound, healthy, and structurally correct puppies. Each puppy is bred, raised, and loved to ensure health, happiness, and harmony at the start of its life. We pride ourselves on helping all of our clients find the right fit for them. Holding ourselves to high standards is paramount to the well-being of our dogs and to the integrity of our program. “A $200 deposit is required to reserve a puppy. This deposit is refundable if we cannot provide you a puppy from your selected breeding. Buyer has two options, a full refund or the deposit can be applied toward a puppy from a subsequent litter.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Shoulder Osteochondrosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • OFA/CHIC DNA Repository

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
