Q. & A. with Amy
Why did you start breeding?
After my sister started a breeding program, we welcomed our founder mama, Leia, a beautiful, spunky and devoted Golden Retriever into our home. As a science teacher, I found breeding amazing and was excited to try it on our own. After our first litter and lots of research, I'm happy to say that we loved it and will continue breeding. We now breed both Golden Retrievers and Goldendoodles.
What makes your program special?
Your puppy will be raised using the BAB curriculum, a program proven to greatly improve outcomes for puppies! From early neurological stimulation, to nerve strength and confidence building, crate training and leash walking, your puppy will experience neurological and social exercises.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Goldendoodle puppies include medium and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Goldendoodle puppies include cream, black, and merle. Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Good level
Stony Run Puppies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Goldendoodles.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
PRA, Golden Retriever 1, DNA Disease Panel, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type 1, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), PRA, Golden Retriever 2
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
