I'm Megan J., the breeder behind Stunningly Sweet Standards located in Salmon, ID. I keep my girls in the best shape and health, mentally and physically. Being a C.V.T., having the knowledge of veterinary medicine, a love for the breed, and working in a veterinary hospital, I feel it is my duty to provide people with the best cared for, and healthiest puppies I possibly can.

Why did you start breeding?
Raising puppies has always interested me. I went to college for veterinary technology, so at my fingertips was access to everything I needed to make sure my breed was everything it was meant to be and guarantee their babies had the best opportunities. Before this, I was just another dog lover so I knew what families were looking for in a dog and breeder. I was blessed with both sides of the coin.What makes your program special?
I do not mass produce Poodles and I am not a ‘doodle-er’. At max, I have 3 females and that’s it. Each girl deserves to be part of the family and have individual attention because they are each individual. I treat their litters the same. They each get individual names, love, care and I know their personality by heart. When they find their families, I’ll know them individually too.What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Getting a puppy from Megan
Megan has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Megan partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
"I discourage, and rarely allow people to choose their puppies solely based on color, however I do take it into deep consideration. This puppy is going to be with you for the rest of its life, which could be 15+ years, wouldn't you rather spend it with a dog whose personality fits your liking rather than its color? Each person or family on the waiting list needs to tell me exactly what they are looking for in a dog. What's your ideal pet? If you could pick a dog 'Subway Sandwich Style', what would you add and what would you leave? Tell me about yourself and your family. Other pets? Kids? House or Apartment? Are you active, or chilled out? All these details are important. Many people think they need to 'mold' the truth and tell me what they think I want to hear. They think that if they tell me they're at work 10 hours a day and the dog will be alone, I won't think that's a good environment for a puppy and therefor not let them have one. If that was the case, I wouldn't have 4 poodles of my own! Everyone is different, that detail just lets me know that the craziest, loudest most active puppy, probably isn't a good fit for you. From birth, I keep track of how each puppies temperament develops, their habits and new occurrences in behavior. Every single week, I take individual photo's of each puppy, and write an individual weekly 'bio' of them. When the puppies are 6 weeks old, you will have been able to watch them through all my pictures, and read all about them developing and changing through my stories and documentation. My goal is to make it like you were actually here! Then, I'll take all my observations and apply it to what you're looking for in a family pet, and your initial desires for certain colors and genders. I will then narrow your choices down to 2-4 puppies (depending on the size of the litter) and then I let you decide which puppy you would like to take home from those. I am proud to say that by using this method for the last 12 years, I have never had a family be unhappy with their choice. Everyone says, "it's like it was meant to be, it's a perfect fit!" Well of course it is, because together we made sure it worked out that way! So, here at SSS, I made choosing your new addition a group effort. It's between their current 'family' (us) and their future 'family' (you)."

"Price is the same regardless of color or gender of puppy. Includes Limited AKC registration, 1st vaccines, 2nd deworming, sample of food, toys, treats, blanket and rigorous socialization. To be on the waitlist, I need a deposit. I take many forms of payment, just inquire."

About Pearl
Pearl is smart, goofy, chill, affectionate, curious and did I mention goofy? I could not have chosen better qualities in a dog. Pearl encompasses all the attributes of so many types of temperaments. Pearl loves people and there isn't a mean bone in her body. The Standard Poodle is a water dog, but for Pearl that is an understatement. To Pearl, there are no such things as strangers. Just friends she hasn't met yet. This dog will bring a smile to the most cynical face.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
