I'm Alexa H., the breeder behind Summers Haven Doodles located in Appleton, WI. Our high quality pups are our top priority. Raising companion dogs requires 24/7 care and we do just that. One litter at a time, quality time with each pup, offering them the highest standards of veterinary care, a healthy home environment, ENS/ESI, desensitization training and more.

Why did you start breeding?
We started raising farm dogs in the 70s, took a break, and here we are! We have seen the tragedy of unethical and back yard breeding and want to provide owners with reasonably priced, high quality dogs. As working professionals, raising pups in our home is a blessing and joy.What makes your program special?

About Lucy
Lucy is a female Aussiedoodle. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Alexa decided to make her part of their program. Alexa has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Parent health testing
Summers Haven Doodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Aussiedoodles.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
