Meet the breeder

I'm Kara F., the breeder behind SunKissed Golden Retrievers located in Charlestown, NH. SunKissed Goldens was established in 2000. We pride ourselves in our dogs and our commitment to this truly outstanding breed. All of our dogs are members of the family, they live in the house with us, and take turns sleeping in the bed every night (they are usually more comfortable than we are!). Our dogs are active participants in Conformation and Obedience. We are very proud to say we've trained and produced dogs who have obtained titles in every AKC event, but more importantly, we have produced multiple therapy & service dogs. We are also recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit and are avid supporters of the Morris Foundation - Golden Retriever Lifetime Study.

Q. & A. with Kara

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started with a wonderful Golden Retriever, named Starr, that I found in the newspaper. I was lucky as she passed all her health clearances and was a nice example of the breed and an excellent Mother. We learned a lot together and the rest is history!
  • What makes your program special?

When you purchase a SunKissed Golden puppy, you become part of our family. We have a large Facebook group for everyone to keep in touch and share photos. We also have annual "Puppy Parties" in the Summer and everyone is invited, in the past, there have been over 50 dogs enjoying the pool and reuniting with their four-legged family. Our litters are planned months in advance with hours and hours spent researching pedigrees. Our breeding dogs have full health clearances and we keep up to date with all new testing that becomes available.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
