Meet the breeder

I'm Katrina G., the breeder behind Sunny Hurricane Siberians located in Dane, WI. We are a wholesome breeder who puts the needs of our dogs and puppies first, always. Dogs have many needs, and we’re in tune with them. From ample room to run and play, as they grow up, to the support of mom at every step of the way, we put our dogs first.

Q. & A. with Katrina

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have been an animal lover my entire life, and have always wanted to spread as much love and joy as possible into the world. After a long search for just the right Siberian Huskies, I found Beyr in December of 2012, then found Copper and Cherokee in the fall of 2014. From there my mission was set. I put love and joy into this world with puppies!
  • What makes your program special?

Health and Wellbeing are of utmost importance. They aren't kept in kennels, they live in the house with me. They eat a RAW diet consisting of grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken and eggs, wild hunted venison, etc., and have Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Grain-Free kibble available if they are still hungry. They even have a canine chiropractor visit twice a month to keep them in top shape!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include agouti and white, black tan and white, brown and white, red and white, black and white, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I was casually looking to add another member to my pack when I found Orion—and instantly fell in love. Katrina was amazing, keeping me updated every step of the way. Since coming home, Orion has filled our lives with love, sass, and classic husky dramatics. Diesel and Koda bonded with him right away, and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience!

I found Katrina while looking for a dog for my family and I. The moment we saw Ace we instantly fell in love with him. The next morning I messaged her asking if he was still availiable and found out he still was! I filled out the adoption paperwork and set a date to meet him. My fiance and I were so excited to meet Katrina and Ace. When we arrived we were met with an amazing welcome. We were introduced to Ace and we just melted. We adopted him that day and waited for the waiting period to end so we could pick him up. Ace has been an amazing addition to our family, he fits right in! His temperament when meeting new people has given him a million complements. He is so friendly and playful! Needless to say my fiancé agree that when we plan on getting another pup Katrina will be our first choice hands down. The care she provides for the pups is amazing!

Katrina is a great breeder and it is very evident in the male pup we received, named Nanook. Nanook is a loving and gentle soul. Because of Katrina’s care he is definitely, an attention getter. Whether the veterinarian doctors or trainers they always compliment on the physical overall appearance and mannerisms of our special little guy. We have had a total of 10 huskies and Nanook by far has a personality that is beyond most. We do communicate with Katrina occasionally on the progress that we have made with Nanook. The transaction with Good Dog and Sunny Hurricane Siberians was handled very professionally, we felt comfortable from the moment that we received confirmation from Katrina that Nanook was ours.

Katrina was super responsive throughout the entire process. She was wonderful to work with and so knowledgeable about the Husky breed. We are so pleased with how Aelin was socialized and cared for as a puppy. She already knew how to use a doggie door and becomes best friends with whoever she meets (person or dog). Wonderful temperament and up for any adventure so far. And she is so very smart and don't forget stubborn lol. Of course, that is part of getting a husky and knowing that they will be that way but are also so very rewarding. Katrina makes sure you know what it will take to raise a Husky, so you are not surprised. Good Dog made this process so easy with finding the right breeder and payment as well as offering puppy training information, which was super helpful even as someone that has owned dogs most of my life. If you are looking for a great Husky, Katrina not only loves them like you would want them to be loved but also makes sure they are fed the best food and keeps immaculate records for you.

Katrina responded to me within the hour with answers to my questions about a pup she had in her most recent litter. Katrina was very patient with me, I had spammed her with messages because I was so excited to get a puppy. She had me calm down from my excitement and proceeded to send me the form for the application for one of her pups. Katrina had explained what she offered with each of her pups. Katrina knew everything about the breed and took pride in each and every one of her huskies that stayed with her and left with other families. Katrina knew that I was only 19 at the time, but she still treated with the upmost respect. To this day Katrina is always there to answer any questions I have about my pup with in an hour! Katrina provided me with the most amazing puppy, Maya is absolutely amazing when it comes to my disability. She is the most gentle dog I have ever met. I am constantly getting compliments about her looks, behavior, and more. Katrina was truly amazing and it’s hard to put into words how grateful and thankful I am. Katrina made my dream come true of getting a husky.
