I'm Michelle B., the breeder behind Sweet Confections Havanese located in Marysville, OH. We love introducing newcomers to the delightful Havanese breed. We know that once folks are introduced to these goofy, playful, loving, intelligent, Velcro dogs they will come to love them as much as we do.   • Why did you start breeding?

    I spent several years watching an experienced breeder friend raise miniature Dachshunds. I'm sure I nearly wore her out with my questions. I finally decided I wanted to start breeding myself but unfortunately, there are dog allergies in my family so I needed a hypoallergenic breed. So I researched heavily and then got to foster a Havanese for a couple of months and I was sold!

  • What makes your program special?

    My dogs are family, they sleep in bed with me at night. Puppies are whelped in my bedroom where they stay for the first couple of weeks until they are ready for a larger pen in my living room. Puppies are litter trained to make potty training easier when they go home.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, chocolate, chocolate sable, and red sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    We named the puppy Casey and he’s probably the best puppy we’ve had over the years. He’s calm and likes being petted, but also is very playful. He’s very smart , comes to his name and does well with sit and lay down after only two weeks. When did you say you were thinking of having another litter? This puppy is smart, alert, and so lovable. I think Michelle is an excellent breeder with quality dogs. We couldn’t be more pleased with our new puppy.

    I could not be happier with my Havanese puppy from Sweet Comfections Havanese! My little Georgia is the sweetest smartest little girl.     We adopted Hershey from Michelle (formerly Sourdough) and everything could not have gone better! The communication and speed of responses was very fast. Any question I had was answered quickly. She was kind enough to send us pictures and videos while we waited for Hershey to be ready on December 30th. Hershey has a great little personality. He is three months old today and sleeps through the night and is well on his way to be being potty trained. I have never had a dog at three months that loved to play fetch already. He picks things up very quickly. We could not be happier!

    We adopted our sweet Rosie (formerly Pita) from Michelle, and the entire experience was great. Michelle was extremely responsive and answered all of my questions without hesitation. She provided copies of the health testing for Rosie's parents and was completely transparent about the results, which gave us so much confidence in our decision. Michelle went above and beyond by sending us videos and pictures of Rosie even before we decided to adopt her which helped us decide if she would be a good fit. When we brought her home, Rosie was healthy, well-socialized, and even litter box trained, which has made house training much easier! Our Rosie has adjusted beautifully to our family, and we couldn’t be happier. We love our baby girl so much and are so grateful to Michelle for such a positive adoption experience.
